PODIATRIST RIDGEWOOD
PODIATRIST TREATS ONYCHOMYCOTIC TOENAILS IS THE SAME THING AS FUNGUS TOENAILS. The whole problem is that some oral medications out there have possible side effects on the liver, kidney, etc... Even if some of these oral antifungals are taken, after they are completed the fungus could possibly reoccur. What caused the fungus to occur in the first place could have been a problem with the patient's immune system. |
|
Please understand that I believe propper shoes are needed as a part of
caring for your mycotic toenails. If impropper shoes are worn and they are too tight, the shoe can push the toenail into your toe and cause a secondary infected ulcer or other complications. I sometimes use topical medication that is not approved by the FDA in the treatment of fungus toenails. |
|
BEWARE OF
UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS REGARDING TREATMENT OF FUNGUS TOENAILS |
|
IF YOU DO NOT SEE A
LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROVIDER, BE CAREFUL TO ASK IF STERILIZED INSTRUMENTS ARE BEING USED TO TREAT YOUR TOENAILS. |
|
Why not see a podiatrist to treat your fungus
toenails? Sterilized instruments are very important. I personally steam sterilize my instruments so that every patient has a sterilized nail instrument and burr in a seperate self seal sterilization pouch. |
|
I believe the sub specialty of podiatric orthopedics and primary podiatric
medicine is important. This specialty is involved in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of onychomycotic toenails (fungus toenails). |

FOOT ORTHOTICS are available and if you cannot afford to pay my
fee let me know. If you have insurance this generally covers a gait analysis and static exam to diagnose your problem. If foot orthotics are not covered by your insurance they can be expensive so let me know if you cannot afford my fee. The lab generally charges me approximately $90 to $125 for the orthotics. Please understand that orthotics are not guaranteed to work and you may end up spending your money and losing your money. |
